Areas for quiet study have been limited in order to observe proper social distancing and sanitation protocols. Seating capacity and furniture arrangement have been made to comply with safe capacity standards. Each large table in the Main library will accommodate only 2 patrons; the Library PC Lab is unavailable.
*Library capacity has been reduced to accommodate social distancing guidelines and will be regulated by Fordham Public Safety.
All visitors to the library will be required to wear a face covering and adhere to the principles set forth in the Ram Pledge.
Patrons must place a HOLD via the library catalog for any print books or AV items (DVDs and CDs) they wish to borrow. Look for email notification when items are available for contactless pick-up on a designated book cart (labeled - Hold Pick-Ups) located near the Circulation Desk. Items will be charged to user accounts prior to pick up. Intercampus Loans and InterLibrary Loans will be processed and made available on the Hold Pick-Up cart. Maintaining social distancing from the Circulation Desk is a must upon retrieving items.
Items will remain On HOLD for 5 business days before returned to stacks.
Please contact the pickup library by email (univlib@fordham.edu) to make alternate arrangements if you are unable to retrieve your requested hold within 5 days.
Hard copy reserve titles are exclusively being made available in digital format during Covid-19. To enforce social distancing and contactless interaction, reserve transactions are unavailable for Spring 2021. All ‘digitized’ Reserve Titles can be found in the Catalog; denoted as “Digital Reserves” in the print item record. Numerous Reserve titles, previously available in print, have been acquired as eBooks to support remote access. Faculty and students, please contact libraryreserve@fordham.edu for more information and assistance. Faculty, please see Reserve Request Form, and if you wish to order a title we do not own, submit the following: Order a Book request.
To return books, you must deposit items in the book drop located outside the library entrance.All returns are quarantined for 72 hours before processing and returned to the stacks.
Library staff will not be handling cash during the Spring 2021 semester. Please email univlib@fordham.edu for assistance with current fines and related account issues.
“Use flash drives, not paper!” Westchester Library staff do not manage print services or provide technical assistance for personal devices. Call IT Help @ 718 817-3999 or visit the IT HelpDesk website for all questions related to printing and technical assistance. Disinfect all touched surfaces before and after use and wash your hands soon after using any shared equipment. If you experience a printer malfunction report the issue to the IT HelpDesk, please place the provided “Out of Order” sign on the machine. It is required that the machine be decommissioned prior to receiving a thorough disinfection procedure before the needed technical repair takes place.
The scanners and copiers are located in the back of the library, available during regular hours of operation. The results of the scan can be emailed by the patron at the end of the job to themselves, or they can be saved to a personal thumbdrive. Disinfect all touched surfaces before and after use.
Please note that all Reserve titles are now available in digital format via the Fordham Library Catalog, print Reserve titles will not circulate.
