Middle East Studies: Maps and Atlases

The CORONA Atlas of the Middle East are satellite images of the Middle East, which have been made freely available through the University of Arkansas.

A large collection of privately held antique maps from around the world (many are in digital format).

Hosted by the University of Texas at Austin Libraries, these digitized maps are primarily scanned copies of CIA documents not available elsewhere on the web.

Since the establishment of the United Nations in 1945, maps and geospatial information have played a critical role in illustrating the ever-changing geography of the world in particular through decolonization and the creation of new independent States or regional organizations. Geography, and geospatial information, plays a key role in understanding and discussing global, regional, national, societal, economic, and environmental interactions.
