Poetry: Finding Books

The Library Catalog & OneSearch

The Classic Library Catalog search is the most efficient way to find books (print & electronic) that Fordham definitively owns.

Looking for ebooks only? Select the "Online Resources" option under the library dropdown limiter before your press Search in the catalog:

The online resources limiter is listed in the options for libraries.

OneSearch aggregates books Fordham owns plus some articles from databases. It also includes bibliographic records for content that Fordham does not own.

Browsing with Call Numbers

The library uses Library of Congress call numbers. Books on similar topics usually have similar call numbers, and arranged on the shelves next to related books.

Call numbers for literature, including poetry, usually start with the letter P. English poetry usually starts with PR, and American poetry usually starts with PS.

See the Library of Congress Classification Outline for subcategories. Click on "P -- Language and Literature" to get started.

Requesting Book Chapters

Interlibrary Loan

Borrowing books or accessing articles that are not available at any of the Fordham University Libraries requires assistance from Interlibrary Loan.

Searching WorldCat

Find items outside of Fordham with WorldCat / OCLC FirstSearch, a platform searching across the largest network of library collections around the world.
