The Library Catalog & OneSearch Video Tutorials

► The Library Catalog search is the most efficiently way to find books (print & electronic) that Fordham definitively owns. 

 Looking for ebooks only? Select the "Online Resources" option under the library dropdown limiter before your press Search in the catalog.

► OneSearch aggregates books Fordham owns plus some articles from databases. It also includes bibliographic records for content that Fordham does not own.

  • Open  tutorials in YouTube and select this icon Full screen icon to expand to full screen mode.
  • To locate books in Walsh Library, click the Map it! icon to see where an item is located in the building.

Requesting Books From Other Campuses

To Place a Hold on a book to have it delivered to your desired campus, use the following steps:

1. Search the Library Catalog.

2. When you find a print book you are interested in, look for the Place Hold link under the image of the book:

3. Once you click on Place Hold on the Item Details page of a catalog record, follow the directions listed on the next page to enter your Fordham ID without the preceding A, PIN (changeme), select your campus location, and press Place Hold.

Books should arrive in 1-2 business days. A notification email will be sent to your Fordham email account when the item is available for pickup at your home library. See the Borrowing at Fordham page for more information.

Locating Different Types of Books

Use the Library Catalog to focus on books that Fordham owns.

Plays & Anthologies

To find individual plays, plays within anthologies, or works by a particular playwright, try the following:

  • Search by the name of the play in the Title field (i.e. "Uncle Vanya")


  • Search by playwright name in the Author field (i.e. Chekhov, Anton)

Criticism & Interpretation

To locate criticism or interpretation of the works of specific playwrights in book form:

  • Search the playwright name in the Subject field.

Searching WorldCat / OCLC FirstSearch

Find items outside of Fordham with WorldCat / OCLC FirstSearch, a platform searching across the largest network of library collections around the world.

Interlibrary Loan

Borrowing books or accessing articles that are not available at any of the Fordham University Libraries requires assistance from Interlibrary Loan.
