► The Classic Library Catalog is the best place to search for books (print & electronic) that Fordham owns. Researchers can use OneSearch to find books but keep in mind that OneSearch will show you bibliographic records of books that Fordham does not own.
► This short video demonstrates how to search the library catalog to find books. For optimal viewing, click to open the video in YouTube and select this icon to expand the video to full screen mode.
► If you are looking for books by a particular sociologist, search for them by name in the library catalog:
► As you search through bibliographic records for books, check the catalog records for Library of Congress Subject Headings. Click on those links to see other books classified with the same subject.
► As you examine a book and its contents, check where the book is published. Books published by university presses are subject to peer review.
Anyone who lives, works, attends school, or pays property taxes in New York State is eligible for a New York Public Library card. Learn how to get a card here.
With an NYPL card, Fordham students could use Oxford Bibliographies Online. The database offers topic overviews and annotated bibliographies in many subjects including Sociology.
