Fordham Languages and Cultures Department
The Languages and Cultures Department (formerly Modern Languages and Literatures) offers classes in Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, and Spanish, as well as classes in Linguistics.

Fordham University Language Learning Center

The Language Learning Center has locations at Rose Hill and Lincoln Center campuses. Both locations offer:

Tutoring services
Computers with audio, recording and film viewing capabilities
Satellite television in Arabic, French, German, Italian, and Spanish

Language Clubs

The Languages and Cultures Department sponsors several language and cultural clubs and societies.

This online platform offers interactive language lessons for Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Must log in with a New York Public Library account.

A free language learning app that offers over 30 languages.

Romanization Tables from the Library of Congress

ALA-LC Romanization Tables
The ALA-LC Romanization Tables: Transliteration Schemes for Non-Roman Scripts, is approved by the Library of Congress and the American Library Association.
