Introducing... The Rooms of Walsh

Meet some of the many rooms that makeup Walsh Library! Each room serves a unique purpose so don't be shy and come learn more about what these rooms have to offer. Swing by the library also to explore the following services currently housed in Walsh as well: Learning and Innovation Technology Environment (LITE), Study Abroad, the Writing Center and of course, the Fordham Museum of Greek, Etruscan and Roman Art, which will reopen in 2023. 

East Reading Room

Looking for some peace and quiet? Stop by this designated Quiet Zone to get some serious studying done. Plus, the lofty windows offer some great views of Walsh Lawn!

Poetry Room

What an alcove! With more than 3,000 poetry books, there is plenty to explore. Come and visit for an in-depth look at contemporary poetry.

Archives & Special Collections

Archives & Special Collections houses the rare book collection of  the Library, manuscript collections and the archives of the University. In addition, the department operates a preservation lab for the restoration of books and documents. With 4,200 linear feet of archival material and more than 28,000 rare books, there is plenty to explore here. Stop by the Fourth Floor of Walsh or schedule a visit to discover these treasures. 

Electronic Information Center (EIC)

Beyond the books, the Electronic Information Center (EIC) is the place to look for all technological material. Explore the EIC underneath the stacks on the lower level.

Paleography Room

The Paleography Room contains a unique collection of work dedicated to writings of ancient speech and scripture. This room is accessible by having a faculty member sponsor students with a research need from the Paleography Collection.
