Middle States - Characteristics of Excellence in Higher Education

Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation
This latest edition of Characteristics was revised in 2015 to reflect the new distance education and correspondence education requirements of the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008.

Standard III, 5b calls for "a curriculum designed so that students acquire and demonstrate essential skills including at least oral and written communication, scientific and quantitative reasoning, critical analysis and reasoning, technological competency, and information literacy."

Fordham Library Tutorial

Library Tutorial
This tutorial provides a very basic overview of information literacy concepts and practice. It is recommended that all incoming students review the tutorial and assess their understanding by taking the quizzes at the end of each section.

Fordham University Academic Integrity Tutorial

Created in the fall of 2006, the Academic Integrity Tutorial is administered to all first year and transfer students. Students are required to complete the assessment prior to registering for their second semester of classes. The assessment is accessed via the Blackboard course management system.

The entering Class of 2024 will see a new approach to academic integrity focused on student wellness and support.
