Nonprofit and Non-Governmental (NGO) Organizations: Finding Books

Finding Books at Fordham University Libraries

There are multiple ways to find books at Fordham. This page contains information about searching along with links WorldCat and library services.

Finding Books with Library Catalogs & OneSearch

► Searching library catalogs helps researchers find books (print & electronic) that Fordham owns. Fordham has two library catalogs that search the same information with different interfaces:

► OneSearch (EBSCO Discovery Service) on the library homepage aggregates books Fordham owns plus some articles. It also includes bibliographic records for items that Fordham does not own.

Search Limiters in OneSearch:

OneSearch interface with filter options highlighted

  • All Filters connects researchers to a range of search options.
  • Full Text prioritizes full text electronic resources and will not include print items.
  • Catalog only searches for books and periodicals in the library catalog; this setting will not search inside books or journals.
  • Peer Reviewed prioritizes articles from peer reviewed journals.
  • All time lets researchers target a search for all time, the past 12 months, the past 5 years, of the past 10 years.
  • Source type enables researchers to select books, ebooks, academic journals, news, magazines, and more.
  • Turn on the Natural language search button to use AI enhancements to parse search terms. Learn more from EBSCO.
