Writing a Business Plan

Writing a Business Plan...

Whether starting a small dry cleaning shop in the Bronx or founding a start up in Silicon Valley, it is important to create a formalized structured document in the nascent stage called a "business plan". This plan helps build infrastructure into your company, sets short-term strategies and develops a plan for growth. Its content may provide a platform for writing pitchbooks for fund raising, marketing proposals or developing website content among other efforts.

The Fordham University Library has many resources (books, ebooks, journal articles) covering the subject of business plan writing. Samples of such resources may be found in this research guide.
