Economics: Finding Working Papers

Federal Reserve economists produce original research on a broad range of topics relevant to the U.S. and foreign economies. These working papers are preliminary versions that are being shared in a timely manner to a broad research community, with the aim of contributing to scholarly debate and soliciting constructive feedback. This work is also often presented at research conferences and many of the papers are later published in peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets.

Copies of unpublished working papers that are currently available can be obtained from the designated program office of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2 Massachusetts Avenue NE, Washington, D.C. 20212, or via email. Reprints may be available for published papers.

The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR) was established in 1999 to promote democratic debate on the most important economic and social issues that affect people's lives. In order for citizens to effectively exercise their voices in a democracy, they should be informed about the problems and choices that they face. CEPR is committed to presenting issues in an accurate and understandable manner, so that the public is better prepared to choose among the various policy options.

The Peter G. Peterson Institute for International Economics is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy. Since 1981 the Institute has provided timely and objective analysis of, and concrete solutions to, a wide range of international economic problems. It is one of the very few economics think tanks that are widely regarded as "nonpartisan" by the press and "neutral" by the US Congress, and its research staff is cited by the quality media more than that of any other such institution. RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 75 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in Economics and related sciences. The heart of the project is a decentralized bibliographic database of working papers, journal articles, books, books chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers. The collected data is then used in various services as described below.
