What is the Poetry Room?
The Poetry Room is a collection of more than 3,000 poetry books, including a range of languages, ethnicities, genders, ages, styles, and centuries. Modern and contemporary poetry is the most heavily represented.
The Poetry Room is a sampling of the poetry books in Fordham University Libraries' collection--and it's always changing. The Poetry Room will usually have a poet's most recent book, while older books are shelved in the library's main collection. Not every poet has a book in the Poetry Room.
Where is the Poetry Room?
The Poetry Room is located in Walsh Library on the Rose Hill campus. It is Room 314, which is located on the 3rd floor behind the elevators.
Can I borrow books from the Poetry Room?
Yes! You can charge the Poetry Room books out just as you would books in the library's main collection.
How can I find which books are in the Poetry Room?
In the Library Catalog, select the Poetry Room from the drop-down list of locations, then hit Search. You can browse through the (long) list of books, or modify your search: for example, you can also search for a specific author or title.
