Guten Tag! Bonjour! Buenos Dias! Ciao! Welcome!

Starting Your Research

  1. Think about the topic and narrow/refine the subject.
  2. Read articles from general sources, such as encyclopedias or .edu websites for background information.
  3. Phrase your topic as a Research Question.  The Question cannot be answered by "Yes" or "No!"  Your paper is the answer to your Research Question. It will be answered by your reading and using library materials.
  4. Create keywords from your Research Question.
  5. Create search strategies for use in databases.
  6. Write your paper and document your sources.
  7. Proofread.
